You Can Be Whatever You Want...Unless It's a Winner

Clay Aiken's life has been defined by failure, some may argue he is famous simply because of his failures, either way, he seems to have trouble winning.

After placing second in American Idol, behind Ruben Studdard, Aiken pursued many different career paths, including writing and a short Broadway career. He has now disclosed his interest in politics. The former Idol contestant ran for a spot in the U.S House Of Representatives in his home state of North Carolina in 2014. After winning the primary election for the democratic elect for the position, Aiken headed to the big vote.

On November 4, 2014 after a bump in the road (literally), Aiken's campaign bus broke down in front of the polling precinct where he had just cast his ballot. This seemed to be just the beginning of a not-so-grand day.

After the votes were counted, Aiken wound up in the all too familiar, losers circle, 58%/41%.

Things may not all be bad for long; It was discovered that cameras have been following Clay throughout his campaign. Could this be the beginning of the Clay Aiken reality show that everyone has been dying for for years. Hopefully this project won't follow the others in the final jurisdiction...

  1. Hey Carlie. If you think coming in second in a field of thousands makes him a loser, what are you? A person who hasn't come close to even qualifying to be in the race.

    1. I'm happy for him in all his success he finds. He has more confidence going on all these different ventures than I will ever have. He is smart and successful, not denying him that.
