Faith in Humanity

Everyone has heard of acts of random kindness (and hopefully takes part in a few),  but to receive one is a total out of body experience. It is always a nice surprise when someone ahead of you at a drive thru pays for your order, and but honestly it change a persons whole day.

Personally, I try to be as positive and  kind to people, at least strangers, as possible. You never know what they are going through and as cheesy as it sounds but letting someone go ahead of you at the store or even offering a simple smile, can brighten their day.

My experience and influence for writing this did not happen to me, but a team mate of mine. His name is Cameron. This year, he tried out for the cheer leading squad at my school and made it. Here's the kicker: he lives in California. However, he is moving to Texas this summer. Travel for try outs was not cheap. Even then, team members helped with expenses. When he made the team, another road block came up. Camp. Every member of the team must attend summer camp, and for lack of a better way to say it, or else.

He set up a GoFundMe page with hopes of raising the money that way. The money was due Tomorrow and he had only raised about $75. Things were not looking good for the boy who just wanted to cheer. Until, 2 hours before the deadline, a total stranger donated $100. (I got chills just typing this). She left a comment saying
"I do not know you, but I do know other cheerleaders and anyone who is dedicated to a sport deserves a chance!"

And just like that, by the generosity of 1 woman, Cameron gets to be a cheerleader after all.

Things like this give me hope back in humanity as a whole; that we aren't all bad people after all.
